Tracking down every Clockwork Castellan in the Resident Evil 4 remake is one of the most satisfying completionist challenges available in the game. These sixteen mechanical figurines, styled after Salazar, are hidden across each chapter of Leon's survival journey. Locating and destroying every single one rewards players with the indestructible Primal Knife, making future playthroughs far more manageable.

Finding the Village Castellans

The first six Clockwork Castellans are hidden throughout the perilous Village region. Players can spot the first figurine resting inside the rafters of a building in the Lakeside Settlement during Chapter 1. Moving through the story, subsequent figurines are tucked away in locations like the Abandoned Factory shack, the docks near the Quarry Merchant, and the attic of the Village Chief's Manor.

Audio cues play a critical role when hunting these collectibles during your journey. Each castellan emits a distinct winding sound when Leon gets close to its position. Listening carefully while exploring areas like the Forest Altar or the clifftop bonfire before the Checkpoint ensures you never miss one.

Uncovering Castle Collectibles

Once you reach the Castle starting in Chapter 7, six additional Clockwork Castellans become available. The seventh figure rests on top of a storage shelf right after you ascend from the dungeon. As you progress through the Castle ramparts and courtyard maze, keep your eyes peeled for figurines hidden behind wooden planks and sandbags.

Navigating the deeper sections of the Castle requires careful observation in every room. For instance, Chapter 10 features a Castellan hanging upside down behind a wall grate in the Depths. Reaching the bottom of the Clock Tower in Chapter 12 reveals another easily missed figurine sitting under the stairs.

Locating the Island Figures

The final four Clockwork Castellans are scattered across the heavily guarded Island facility in Chapters 13 through 16. Chapter 13 places its doll inside a small alcove along the Western Wharf path. Following that, players can find the Chapter 14 figure on top of a locker near the Campsite.

The remaining two dolls require quick action in late-game environments. In Chapter 15, check the ceiling beams in the Specimen Storage area. The final Castellan appears in Chapter 16 within the Underground Passage room filled with wooden crates during the timed escape sequence.

Rewards for Destroying All Castellans

Destroying all sixteen Clockwork Castellans instantly completes the Revolution Wind-up achievement. More importantly, it unlocks the Primal Knife in the Extra Content Shop. Fully upgrading this knife makes it completely unbreakable, eliminating durability concerns forever.
